Drive-Thru Guide for Burger Shift: Team Rush

Takeaway bags, player-reported two-window flow, and how to-go packing differs from the dining room.

Drive-Thru Guide

The Drive-Thru in Burger Shift: Team Rush is a full Early Access feature, not a Prologue-complete lane. Windows and exterior car queues showed up in earlier builds and screenshots, but hiring plus a complete Drive-Thru belong to the Early Access kitchen that entered on 11 September 2026. If you are still on the free Prologue (app 3821150) or the old demo (app 4251300), treat cars outside as a preview, not as a promise that you can staff a window tonight.

This page is packing and routing for to-go versus the dining room. It is not a second cooking class. Patties still flip around 85–90% doneness, both sides still need heat, and wraps still unwrap for inspection. What changes is the last metre: bags, windows, and a customer who is not sitting at a table.

What Early Access actually adds

Nova Telum Studio lists Drive-Thru, takeaway, fryer, ice cream / soft-serve, and hireable NPC employees among the full Early Access additions. Takeaway bags are part of that language. You are no longer only plating a wrap toward a dining-room pass. You are packing a bag that has to survive a window handoff.

Players report two windows. This wiki will not pretend that is a numbered blueprint with official measurements, but you should plan as if a speaker / pay window and a handoff window can both demand a body. If your crew only posts one person at the exterior and hopes, dining-room tickets will still print and the bag line will stall.

NPC employees help the building, not the car. They keep tables clean and ingredients stocked. They do not become a magical window attendant unless you see that happen in your build. Read the Employees Guide for what hiring actually does, then decide whether a human still needs to own the bag.

Packing to-go versus the dining room

Dining-room tickets want a wrap (and drinks) delivered to a table or the pass. Drive-Thru and takeaway want that same food grouped into bags. Do not toss a naked wrap at a car because the burger itself is correct. The bag is the plate.

Build in this order when a to-go ticket prints:

  1. Read the receipt hover preview. Confirm burger, drinks, and any Early Access extras such as fryer or ice cream items if your build has them.
  2. Cook and wrap as usual. Unwrap to inspect if the Prep Pan or the paper disagrees.
  3. Pour drinks into the ticket, not into a random cup garden.
  4. Pack the bag. Keep one ticket’s food in one bag whenever the order allows it.
  5. Hand off at the window. Watch patience alerts — they still name who, where, and time left, even if where is a car instead of a booth.

A recipe checklist is more useful at the window than in your head. To-go tickets stack modifiers. The dining room at least gives you a table number you can see. A bag with the wrong pickle count is already down the lane.

Two-window thinking without a fantasy layout

If your crew is four or fewer, do not staff a dedicated speaker person and a dedicated handoff person and a dedicated bag packer. You will starve the grill. Window coverage in a small lobby is a runner job: the same human who empties bins and greets the dining room also packs bags during Drive-Thru spikes.

At six to eight players you can freeze a window role. One body faces cars. One body packs bags behind them. Grill and wrap never move. Drinks feed both the dining room and the bag line. That is the first time two windows, as players describe them, become a staffing problem instead of a screenshot detail.

Voice chat matters more at the window than at the grill. The car cannot hear your spatula. Call ticket contents out loud so the packer does not hover the same receipt twice. Name tags from Burger Flow help you yell at a person instead of at a colour standing near the glass.

What the window steals from other stations

Every bag is time the dining room does not get. Manager already sends about 35% more customers; Supervisor about 10%. Opening Drive-Thru on Manager with three humans is how you learn that patience alerts can fire from two directions. Stay on Trainee until bag packing is boring.

The kitchen stations map still applies. Grill owns heat. Assembly owns wrap. Drinks own cups. The window is a new front of house, not a reason to abandon the steel. Ice cream and fryer tickets that exist in Early Access belong in the bag when the receipt says so; they do not get their own volunteer if burgers are burning.

Trash still exists. Dumpster Duty made bins fill. To-go packing creates more paper and more failed bags. Empty bins on the same runner loop that restocks wrapping. Deliveries still arrive at the back, truck and dumpsters included. A window that looks busy while the cooler is empty is a costume.

Achievement names, not unlock guides

To-Go Master is a Steam achievement name in the 20-item list. This page will not invent what unlocks it. Treat the name as confirmation that takeaway is a real mode of play, then pack bags because the ticket asked, not because you are hunting a trophy. Brain Freeze, Fountain Service, and Morning Brew are other names that hint drinks and frozen service still matter when the customer is in a car.

There are no promo codes that skip the window. Official destinations sit on the links hub if you need patch news. Play the Early Access build on Windows. Steam Deck support is not confirmed, which matters if you hoped to run a window on a handheld.

When the cars are quiet, go back to dining-room fundamentals: 85–90% flips, both sides cooked, wrap inspected. The Drive-Thru is a packing layer on top of a kitchen you already have to run. Staff it like an extra pass, hire employees to protect tables and stock, and keep one human whose only job in a large lobby is to make sure the bag that leaves the glass matches the paper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common kitchen questions.

Is the Drive-Thru in the Prologue?

Windows and exterior shots showed up early, but a complete Drive-Thru with takeaway packing is a full Early Access feature. Prologue and demo players should not plan a window shift as if hiring and bags are finished systems.

Do I cook differently for to-go tickets?

No. Flip at 85–90%, cook both sides, wrap, and inspect. The difference is packing into takeaway bags and handing off at the window instead of serving the dining room. Station fundamentals stay on Kitchen Stations.

Are there really two windows?

Players mention two windows. Plan staffing as if pay and handoff can both need attention, but do not freeze two dedicated window bodies until you have six or more humans and a stable grill.

Can NPC employees run the Drive-Thru for me?

They clean tables and restock ingredients. Do not assume they replace a human packer. See the Employees Guide for what hiring actually covers.

What is To-Go Master?

It is a Steam achievement name. This wiki does not invent unlock conditions. Pack bags because the ticket requires takeaway, and use a recipe checklist so the bag matches the receipt.

Should I open Drive-Thru on Manager?

Not until dining-room wrap is automatic. Manager sends about 35% more customers. Learn bags on Trainee, then add the window as an extra pass, not as a substitute for grill and assembly.
